Ute Strub has significantly shaped educational sand play in Germany. Her idea assumes that sand as an elemental material has a profound effect on children's development: it calms, promotes concentration, trains fine motor skills and opens up a space in which children can experience themselves.

Fully in the spirit of Emmi Pikler and Maria Montessori, children in our sand room need as little guidance as possible from outside. They follow their own inner logic – and we watch in amazement at how differently each child proceeds.

To ensure a calm and focused atmosphere, we deliberately limit the number of places. This allows every child and accompanying person to enjoy their time in the sand room to the fullest – without rush, without noise.
